Twelve years after finishing his career at West Liberty University, Arlington football coach Greg Dailer returned to be inducted into the Hilltoppers’ Hall of Fame.
He was one of five former West Liberty athletes honored at the Sept. 12 Alumni Bowl game in West Liberty, W. Va.
A wide receiver for the Hilltoppers from 1995-97, Dailer set receiving records that remain on the school rolls to this day.
He recorded 1,000-plus yards during his junior and senior seasons, with 60 catches and six touchdowns in the 1996 season and 53 catches and 16 touchdowns in 1997. His career totals — 2,734 yards and 28 touchdowns — is still untouched by his successors.
Dailer was a two-time all-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first-team selection. His senior year, he became the first Hilltopper to be named to the Div. II all-American first team and represented his school at the all-star Snow Bowl in Fargo.
