ARLINGTON — On Aug. 30, detectives from the Arlington, Monroe and Snohomish police departments arrested a 52-year-old man at his Everett residence in connection with three recent bank robberies in Arlington (Chase Bank on June 30), Snohomish (Key Bank on July 28) and Monroe (Union Bank on Aug. 29).

The arrest was made after Monroe Police received a tip from a citizen that led detectives to the suspect. Detectives from the Arlington, Monroe and Snohomish Police Departments joined together with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office to execute a search warrant in the 600 block of 46th Street SE in Everett, where the suspect was subsequently arrested. Outside the residence was the metallic blue Chevrolet Nova that was described by a witness from the Snohomish bank robbery that occurred on July 28, 2011. Evidence was seized from the third-floor apartment and the vehicle was impounded for further processing.

The suspect was booked into Snohomish County Jail on two counts of Robbery in the First Degree, stemming from the June 30 robbery of the Chase Bank in Arlington and the July 28 robbery of the Key Bank in Snohomish. Charges in the Aug. 29, robbery of the Union Bank in Monroe are expected to be filed in the coming days.

Snohomish Police Chief John Turner said, “The resolution of these three cases was made entirely possible from the excellent work all three agencies did to collect information and evidence after the robberies were initially committed.”

Arlington Police Chief Nelson Beazley said, “I am proud of the teamwork from all three agencies that ultimately led to this arrest.”

Monroe Police Chief Tim Quenzer added, “The tip received from the citizen is a testament to the power of police, media and the public working together for the good of all.”
