Lakewood School District prepares for new school year

Students in Lakewood will be returning to the classroom on Wednesday, Sept. 1, meaning that registration for all district schools is right around the corner.

LAKEWOOD — Students in Lakewood will be returning to the classroom on Wednesday, Sept. 1, meaning that registration for all district schools is right around the corner.

Parents whose students are new to any of the district’s elementary schools may register by visiting the district office at 17110 16th Drive NE, Marysville. The deadline to register is Aug. 23.

For Lakewood Middle School, parents may register their new students by visiting the school, located at 16800 16th Drive NE, Marysville, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 17.

New Lakewood High School students can register from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Aug. 16 at the school (17023 11th Ave. NE, Marysville).

Students who are new to Lakewood High School must also provide their transcript, immunization record, birth certificate and proof of address.

Registration forms for all new students are available at the district office from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Returning students at Lakewood High School can attend “Cougar Days” on Aug. 17 and 18. Registration for seniors is from 8-10:30 a.m., while registration for juniors is from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 17.

On Aug. 18, sophomores register between 8-10:30 a.m., while freshmen will register between noon and 2:30 p.m.

During Cougar Days, students will be able to have their ASB card pictures taken, pick up their schedules and pay other related school fees.

Returning Lakewood Middle School students can register on Aug. 23 from 9-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4 p.m. for students whose last names are “A” through “L.”

Students with “M” through “Z” last names can register at that same time the following day, Aug. 24.

Sixth-grader orientation will be held from 7:30-11:30 a.m. on Aug. 20 at the middle school.
