Gloria A. Hill was born Nov. 11, 1940, to August and Meta (Buchheister) Kahler in Maricopa, Calif.
She entered into rest in Seattle, Wash., on May 29, 2007, with her loving family at her side, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Gloria moved to Everett as a child.
She graduated from Bothell High School in 1958.
Gloria had a variety of interests including singing as a Sweet Adeline, traveling, especially to the ocean, panning for gold in the California hills, camping, socializing and dining with friends.
Gloria was known for her engaging smile, quick wit and fun sense of humor, no matter the situation.
Gloria is survived by her loving family, her life partner, Roger Schmidt, of Marysville, Wash.; children, Bob Hill and his wife, Kathy, of Burlington, Wash.; Tina Vaughan, of Kenmore, Wash.; Tammy Hill, of Lynnwood, Wash.; Therese Schilling and her husband, Mark, of Arlington, Wash.; brother, August Kahler and his wife, Helen, of Federal Way, Wash.; sisters, Katherine Kitty Lundberg and her husband, Swede, of Lake Stevens, Wash.; and Norma Powers, of Sultan, Wash.; grandchildren, Branden Vaughan, of Oak Harbor, Wash.; Denika, Bo and Brock Schilling all of Arlington; Kayla and Rylie Hill, of Burlington; Tyron and Chevonne Parsley, of Snohomish County; great-grandchild, Cameron Castro; numerous nieces and nephews; and the many friends she made during her path in life who will also miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Glorias Life was held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the home of Bob and Kathy Hill, Burlington.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorials can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 530 Dexter Ave. North No. 300, Seattle, WA 98109.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Affordable Burial & Cremation Services, LLC of Mount Vernon.
