Dorothy Jean Schlicker, 80, died peacefully with her family by her side at Providence Everett Hospitals Colby Campus on Nov. 30, 2006, after suffering a massive stroke at her Everett home.
She was born Nov. 12, 1926, in Bismarck, N.D., the daughter of John and Irene Tucker. She came to Everett with her family in 1942 and graduated from Everett High School in 1944. She married Al Schlicker in Everett on May 15, 1948.
A homemaker, she enjoyed sewing and gardening, but most of all caring for her family in the Colby Avenue home where she lived for nearly 60 years.
Dorothy Jean was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Knutzen.
She is survived by her husband, Al, at the family home; son, Tom Schlicker, of Stanwood, Wash.; daughters, Carol Weller, of Arlington, and Nancy (Jack) Darnton, of Anacortes; granddaughters, Melissa, Amy, Sara and Alice; great-grandson, Damien; and sister, Luella Greenshields.
An afternoon open house memorial celebration was at noon, Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at the family home at 616 Colby Avenue, Everett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charitable funds of the donors choice.
