Lucile Edna (Barthel) Bauer passed silently into eternity at 7:45 p.m., Dec. 6, 2006 in Marysville, Wash. She had her steadfast, loyal husband, all her children and her pastor at her bedside earlier in the afternoon for scripture, prayer and song. She led her family in the Lords Prayer and repeated it again aloud.
Lucile was born in Pipestone, Minn., on Jan. 8, 1925, and lived and worked with her family on farms in South Dakota and Iowa.
She also worked for Madeline Villa and Marysville School District. She married Delbert Henry Bauer her loving husband, on Aug. 8, 1943.
She is survived by her husband; her adoring children, Larry Duane Bauer of Everett, Dennis Dean (Cindy) Bauer of Lake Forest, Calif., Randal Craig (DyAnn) Bauer of Arlington Wash., and Nancy Jo (Rocco) Bauer Sheets of Marysville. Also surviving, her sister in South Dakota, a brother in Montana, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Lucile was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; an infant daughter; and two infant granddaughters.
Lucile was a loving, faithful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Christian friend. She was an example of Christian love and faithfulness. She leaves a legacy in her family and dear friends. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Marysville.
Visitation was held from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Ave., Marysville. Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 at Messiah Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Building Fund.
