William E. (Bill) Robison, 88, of Arlington passed away peacefully on January 17, 2017. He was born June 23, 1928 in Olympia and later moved to Bellingham. Bill enlisted in the Army at a young age and served in the 65th Engineer Combat Battalion in the South Pacific during WWII. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1949. He moved to Seattle after marriage to Beverly J. Hunt in 1953.

Bill was active in the Bits and Spurs Riding Club and an active member of the local roping community. Retiring from the U.S. Postal Service in the early 1980’s, he and Bev moved from Bothell to Arlington, where they built a home and lived until their deaths.

Bill, considered by many to be “Mr. Food Bank,” was passionate about volunteering his time and spent over 20 years in service to the Arlington Food Bank. He was also an active member of the Bryant Community Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Beverly, sisters Zeola Pekema, Doreen Baker and brother Chet Baker. Survived by daughters, Necia Ivie of Tacoma and Pegi Robison of Anchorage. Granddaughters Jessica Ivie of New Rochelle, N.Y. and Emily Ivie of Tacoma.

In lieu of flowers, Bill requests all donations go to the Arlington Food Bank. Memorial service for Bill and Bev to be held Saturday, March 25, at 11 a.m. at the Bryant Community Church, 26830 53rd Ave, NE Arlington, WA 98223. Food will be served downstairs following the service.
