ARLINGTON – With the weather so bad this spring, Arlington High School tennis coach Jill Hatfield has only had her squad on the actual courts twice.
So it’s hard to know how her team looks, as players can improve a lot at this age, especially if they work had in the off-season.
But Hatfield does know one thing for sure. She returns one of her top players from last year, Layla Garduno Cravato, a sophomore. Hatfield she only lost one match last year, playing second and third singles.
The Eagles return five other varsity players on their 15-member team. Many are up from the JV squad, so even though there are a number of upperclassmen, they lack varsity experience.
Overall, Hatfield said her team is made up of hard workers.
