MARYSVILLE — An Arlington woman was injured in a robbery outside a Marysville grocery late in the evening of May 9.
At approximately 11:49 p.m., Marysville Police and Fire District personnel responded to the Winco Foods parking lot, in the 3900 block of 116 Street NE, to investigate a report of a 31-year-old woman from Arlington who was conscious, alert and bleeding from the face from injuries she received during a robbery at gunpoint that occurred at that location.
The woman was injured during the robbery when she was assaulted by an unidentified adult male suspect who was armed with a gun. The suspect then took the woman’s purse and fled the area. It is not immediately clear whether the suspect acted alone in this incident. While the suspect has not been identified at this time, there are indications that the woman possibly knew her attacker. Marysville Police Lt. Darin Rasmussen believes this to be an isolated incident.
After the woman made it into the store and help was summoned, she was transported by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries to her face. It is still unclear whether or not the woman’s injuries were a result of a gunshot, but she is expected to recover.
This incident is under investigation by Marysville Police detectives, who are reviewing surveillance video and request that anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has any information regarding this incident, contact Detective Cori Shackleton at 360-363-8327.
