MARYSVILLE – Police are seeking help in finding a vehicular assault suspect.
Zachery Kier, 37, of Seattle allegedly was driving impaired when police tried to pull him over Aug. 3 about 1:30 a.m. in the 11400 block of Quil Ceda Boulevard, north of Seattle Premium Outlets.
The jeep failed to stop and attempted to elude police by turning west onto 116th Street NE and accelerating. After crossing I-5, the jeep turned onto southbound Quil Ceda Boulevard and entered a roundabout going the wrong direction. The jeep struck a sedan passenger vehicle head-on, violently knocking the vehicle back and leaving its occupants injured. The passenger vehicle was occupied by a 71-year-old male driver, and 71-year-old female passenger who were on their way home to Stanwood.
The driver of the suspect vehicle, Kier, ran into the woods, leaving behind his two injured passengers.
A K-9 search with assistance of a drone was unsuccessful in locating Kier.
A backseat passenger in the jeep, a 34-year-old Snohomish County man, sustained life-threatning injuries and is in the intensive care unit at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. The woman, who was in the front seat, was released from the hospital with no serious injuries.
The woman in the passenger vehicle was taken to the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in serious condition. The driver was transported to a local hospital and has since been released. Kier is wanted by the Department of Corrections for probation violations. He is also wanted by Marysville police on felony charges of vehicular assault, attempting to elude a police officer, felony hit and run, and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute. If you know the whereabouts of Kier, police ask you to call 9-1-1. If you have information on the collision, call 360-363-8300. Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering a reward of up to $1,000.
