The businesses and community groups of North Snohomish County are chipping in on behalf of one of their own communities, as Oso and Darrington continue to recover from the landslide that impacted both towns on Saturday, March 22.
Domino’s donates sales on March 27-28
SMOKEY POINT — The Smokey Point Domino’s Pizza, located at 3704 172nd St. NE in Arlington, will be conducting a fundraiser for the victims of the Oso landslide from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, and Friday, March 28.
The Smokey Point Domino’s will be giving 100 percent of those days’ sales to the victims’ relief fund created by Cascade Valley Hospital.

Silvertips smash car for charity March 28
EVERETT — The Everett Silvertips’ home game against Seattle, at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, March 28, in the Comcast arena, will include opportunities for spectators to contribute funds to the victims of the Oso landslide.
Attendees will be able to make donations through the Silvertips’ guest services, and will also be able to pay to take a whack at a car with a sledgehammer outside of the arena.
Tulalip Cabela’s aims to raise $5K March 28-30
TULALIP — The Tulalip Cabela’s, located at 9810 Quil Ceda Blvd., will be hosting a benefit barbecue for the victims of the Oso landslide from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Friday, March 28, through Sunday, March 30.
Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available, in exchange for donations, and the event organizers’ goal is to raise $5,000 in three days. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross.

Simply Caketastic sells jumbo cupcakes for Red Cross
MARYSVILLE — Simply Caketastic, located at 1357 State Ave. in Marysville, is selling jumbo cupcakes throughout the week to help support the victims of the Oso landslide.
Stop in and buy one of many flavors of jumbo cupcakes for $5, and 100 percent of those sales will go directly to the American Red Cross’ efforts on behalf of the landslide victims.

SMOKEY POINT — The One of a Kind Espresso stand, located at 5200 172nd St. NE in Arlington, is donating 25 percent of its sales throughout the week to help victims of the Oso landslide.

Food Pavilion collects cash, supplies
ARLINGTON — The Arlington Food Pavilion, located at 146 E. Haller Ave., is collecting not only cash donations, but also food, water and hygiene supplies for the victims of the Oso landslide.
The Food Pavilion’s donation drive will run throughout the week during its hours of operation, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Local Avon lady donates proceeds
ARLINGTON — Arlington-based Avon lady Carrie Byrum is donating 40 percent of her proceeds to help families in need as a result of the Oso landslide.
Byrum will contribute that 40 percent, to relief funds throughout the community, from every Avon order placed with her by Monday, March 31.
Those who order online, or who live in the Arlington, Smokey Point, Marysville or Lake Stevens communities, can have their orders delivered directly to their houses.

Girls Scouts collect for Darrington
MARYSVILLE — The Girl Scouts of Western Washington are collecting the following food items and supplies, that have been specifically requested to support the Darrington community’s efforts to feed hundreds of aid workers and people displaced by the Oso landslide:
- Dry pasta.
- Bottled spaghetti sauce.
- Canned chili and soups.
- Paper products, including plates, bowls, napkins and toilet paper.
- Plastic utensils.
The Girl Scouts’ North Regional Office, located at 1331 State Ave. in Marysville, is accepting donations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Helping Hands distributes donations to displaced
ARLINGTON — Helping Hands, located at 18722 59th Ave. NE in Arlington, is distributing donations that it’s received, from the Arlington mayor’s office and others, to those displaced by the Oso landslide, from 9 a.m. to noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The Arlington mayor’s office asks any agencies involved in the landslide recovery efforts to refer the landslide victims to Helping Hands.

Union Bank, Cascade Valley set up disaster relief
ARLINGTON — The Cascade Valley Hospital Foundation has established a disaster relief account at the Arlington Union Bank, located at 525 N. Olympic Ave.
Checks should be addressed to the Cascade Valley Hospital Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
All donations are tax-deductible, and all proceeds will go toward those affected by the Oso landslide, with no overhead costs.
You may drop off your donations at either the Arlington Union Bank, care of Tina Davis, or the Cascade Valley Hospital Foundation, located at 330 S. Stillaguamish Ave. in Arlington.

United Way starts Disaster Recovery Fund with $75K
United Way of Snohomish County has set up a Disaster Recovery Fund for Mudslide Relief, and started it with not only a $25,000 gift from its endowment, but also $50,000 from JPMorgan Chase.
“When the affected communities are ready to start moving toward recovery, we will be ready, too,” said Dennis Smith, president and CEO of United Way of Snohomish County.
