ARLINGTON — Dr. Shawn Gay, a Stanwood resident and Arlington doctor of chiropractic, was recently honored by the Washington State Chiropractic Association with its President’s Gavel Award and its Outstanding Service Award.
He was presented with both awards at the WSCA Spring Conference on April 25.
The awards were presented to Dr. Gay as he completed his term as president of the WSCA Board. He has served on the WSCA Board for six years.
The 1,000-member WSCA is the only statewide association that represents the chiropractic profession in Washington State.
Dr. Gay is a graduate of Life Chiropractic College West and has been in practice for 11 years. He provides chiropractic care at Arlington Family Chiropractic located at 20218 77th Ave. NE.
He is also member of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce and Chiropractic Knights of the Round Table.
An affiliate of Dr. Gay, John Angell, owner of Kirkland Billing in Arlington, was recently named Corporate Partner of the Year by the association.
Angell’s company provides billing and in-house consulting and training to chiropractic offices.
“I support chiropractic and the WSCA the best I can as a very small business,” Angell said.
“I feel this award also recognizes other small businesses who give more from their heart and with passion.”
An avid ham radio hobbyist, Angell is a volunteer for Emergency Services. He also volunteers for the Seattle Marathon, manning a safety and course marshall post with ham radio. He is a past president of the Seattle Astronomical Society and very involved in local astronomy events, as well as teaching astronomy classes. He is an avid bicyclist and cross country skier as well.
