ARLINGTON — It’s that time of year again when corn connoisseurs come out and celebrate the best local sweet corn in the country. Two full days of excitement await visitors at Garden Treasures Nursery & Organic Farm and Foster’s Produce & Corn Maze on the Red Rooster Route. Both farms will host a variety of farm-centered activities and mouth-watering corn roasts for sweet corn-lovers.
Celebrate your farmers and the harvest season with friends and family on a local farm and reward your taste buds with fresh picked sweet corn and other farm goodies. Due to the unusually wet spring, corn is late this year. But both farms hope that it will be ready for this year’s festival. Garden Treasures will host a unique corn and salsa roast that will have you coming back for seconds and Foster Farm’s fresh, picked daily sweet corn will be cooked straight from the field and served traditionally with melted butter, salt and pepper the way grandma makes it.
This third year of the annual Red Rooster Route will also host a variety of upcoming summer and fall festivals including The Fall Pumpkin and Corn Maze Festival Oct. 1-31 at Foster’s Produce & Corn Maze and Garden Treasures Nursery & Organic Farm and the Apple Cider Festival Oct. 8 and 9 at Garden Treasures Nursery & Organic Farm as well as many more fall festivals. A self-guided tour through the greater Arlington area, the Red Rooster Route is rich with pastoral views and plenty of recreational and u-pick opportunities.
