ARLINGTON — The Seattle Seahawks will be represented at the Arlington High School football game tonight, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m.

The Sea Gals cheerleaders and Blue Thunder drumline will be performing at halftime. The Seahawks will present a check for The NFL grant of $200,000 for the new turf on the field and a donation from ESPN for $25,000 for other upgrades.

The game against Eastside Catholic will be the first on their new field. The Eagles are 2-0, having won both of their road games.

The Eagles also will be honoring a student, athlete and friend who died in the Oso mudslide. Jovon “JoJo” Mangual, 13, was one of 43 people killed in the March 22 disaster. Before the game, players and fans will observe a moment of silence for the victims and honor first responders during a fly-over by a rescue helicopter, sources say.

Eastside Catholic has raised several thousand dollars by selling “Oso Strong” T-shirts that will be donated to Arlington athletic programs in honor of the mudslide victims.
