MEDICAL LAKE — The Stilly Valley junior baseball team couldn’t continue its success at the state level.

After blowing away the competition in the District 1 Tournament two weeks ago, Stilly Valley took a pair of early losses at the state tournament to get knocked out of the double-elimination tournament at Medical Lake High School.

Stilly Valley earned a first-round bye, and faced Richmond July 18, but fell in a heartbreaker 8-7.

The loss bounced them to the consolation bracket, and a matchup against Federal Way American. Stilly Valley then lost the July 19 game 8-2.

The Stilly Valley juniors were made up of Peter Chung, Jacob Crain, Dallas Guerrero, Ryan Walker, Josh Schempp, Kyle Osborn, Brandon Smith, Bradley Mosalsky, Noa Sorensen, Andrew Stitch, Brandon Tallman and Garrett Wiseman.

STILLY FASTPITCH KNOCKED OUT

The girls defeated Central/South Whidbey 13-3 in the first round and Sequim 6-4 in the second round before losing 7-0 to Columbia. The loss meant that the juniors had to win three consecutive games to move onto the Little League World Series, but they faced North East/RUG and lost 12-2.

Juniors included Sierra Nicholson, Machelle Steele, Savannah Duce, Allison Rosenbach, Savannah Deimer, Mccall Meghee, Karly Albertson, Elysia Whitis, Jennaka Larson, Kailee Morris, Jessica Jones and Bailey Hoag.
