U.S. Marines will be meeting the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13 in support of the annual U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Campaign at Haggen Food & Pharmacy stores.
Haggen stores are collecting donations of cash and new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 20 for Toys for Tots (www.toysfortots.org) and they will donate a quality, lead-free Mattel toy for each contribution ($9.99 or higher in value) of a toy purchased on Dec. 13 at a Haggen store.
Toys for Tots, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity, conducts toy collection and distribution campaigns in all 50 states. Ninety-seven percent of all cash donations stay in local communities for the purchase of toys, ensuring there is something available for all age groups of boys and girls.
“Toys for Tots provides thousands of gifts for children each year, helping local low-income families during the holidays,” said Becky Skaggs, spokesperson for Haggen Food & Pharmacy stores. “Toys for Tots also has an extremely high percentage of donations going directly for toy purchases and distribution. We encourage everyone to support Toys for Tots with donations.”
