ARLINGTON — Those interested supporting a local horse organization or simply just dancing in the dirt will soon be able to do.

People Helping Horses, an Arlington-based nonprofit, will be hosting the second annual open house Sept. 19 at the group’s barn in Arlington.

Doors open at 10 a.m., and attendees will be able to meet the organization’s resident rescue horses, board members and volunteers.

Activities include a competition by the Washington State Mounted Shooters and a raffle.

Concessions and refreshments will also be available.

At 6 p.m., attendees will be able to participate in “Dancin’ in the Dirt.” During the dinner, dance and auction, people will enjoy music from Rae Solomon and the Gravel Road band.

The barbecue dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., with the live auction taking place at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for Dancin’ in the Dirt must be purchased in advance through People Helping Horses. Cost is $25 per person.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the organization and its programs, including the Leg Up for Kids Therapeutic Riding program.
