The Arlington Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1:44 a.m., Tuesday, to find a fully involved two-story home engulfed in flames at 8904 Tveit Loop Road.
Responding units took a defensive fire approach to the house which appeared to be abandoned and neighbors had reported as unoccupied. The structure was behind a locked gate and up a long driveway, making firefighting difficult due to limited access. Firefighters hand carried hose and equipment to the structure to aggressively fight the fire which took crews approximately 30 minutes to contain. There was a major collapse of the structure onto itself, completely destroying the home. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office conducted a precautionary search with a cadaver dog Tuesday morning and verified there was no one inside the home. City officials are trying to locate the property owner.
No personnel were injured on the fire and a crew remained on site to contain hot spots. Most units cleared the scene at 5 a.m.
