Starting Saturday Dec. 5, at 5 p.m. the annual Arlington Fire Department Santa Run will kick off starting in the 4100 block of 166th Street.
Lead by a fully decorated fire engine, Santa and his team of helpers made up of Fire Department personnel, city of Arlington employees, and a variety of local civic groups all volunteering their time, will be out and about town greeting smiling faces and collecting donations for the Arlington Food Bank.
“Last year we handed out thousands of candy canes, collected over a thousand dollars and 6,665 pounds of non-perishable food for the Arlington Food Bank” said Ronda Davies, Firefighter and Santa Run lead organizer. “This is our chance to go out and meet directly with the community on their streets while also collecting much needed donations for the Arlington Food Bank. This is a win-win for everyone”.
While the Santa Run is pleased to help the local community with donations to the Arlington Food Bank, no donation is required. When you hear Santa’s Fire Truck siren, come outside and say hello. Santa and his helpers would love to see your priceless smiles, share with you a sense of community and celebrate the holiday season.
