Juicing Workshop

Unique veggies to enhance your diet

Virtually every nutrition article written about our current food choices at mealtime encourages us to eat more vegetables. This class will help those of you interested in expanding your vegetable choices by adding vegetables not common to you. Learn to cook nutritious vegetables such as kale, chard, collard greens, bok choy, jicama and daikon radish.

Yoga for beginners

Experienced instructors lead beginning students through the basics of Yoga with attention to the specific needs of each student. Learn breathing techniques and methods for safely stretching out and strengthening the body, using precise alignment and form. Each class will end with deep relaxation. Yoga is a great way to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle, feel good and enjoy the simple things in life. Yoga for beginners is suitable for all ages and no experience is needed to start. Make up classes may be taken at any other yoga for beginners class.

Belly dance for beginners

Learn the basic movements of Egyptian-style Belly dance. Through Belly dance women of all ages and body styles gain a sense of positive self that is seen not only through their dance, but also in their personal lives. The physical, emotional and spiritual benefits of Belly dance are numerous, including the fact that it is just great fun. Body toning through isolations and undulations is a bonus. This is an excellent workout alternative.

Tahitian dance for women and girls

Study the beautiful art of Tahitian dance, taught by a descendant of Tahitian Royalty. Tie on a Pareo/Sarong and join in for a session of dance that is great for the waist, hips and thighs. Learn how to move more gracefully and enjoy the fun of moving to the rhythms of the Pacific Islands. Tahitian dance honors women of all ages, shapes and sizes. Mothers and daughters are welcome to take this class together. Ages 10 and up.

Pilates/Yoga fusion (for all levels)

Pilates/Yoga borrows from the best of both worlds; the core strengthening of Pilates and the flexibility/relaxation aspects of yoga and brings them together in this Fusion class. At the end of the hour students will feel longer, taller, more toned and relaxed. This is an excellent class for anyone, no matter what kind of shape you are in. Pilates and Yoga are, by nature, a mindful way to exercise that is easy on the joints. Perfect for beginners and for the more experienced as well.

Skyhawks tennis program (ages 7-14)

Skyhawks Sports tennis breaks down the fundamental skills of tennis through easily understood and applicable games and exercises that increase the athlete’s abilities. Each athlete will learn proper grips, footwork, strokes, volleys, and serves to help develop the total player. All participants will receive a t-shirt and merit award. Cartooning and animation for kids

Have fun drawing and doodling. Originate, satirize, caricature and learn an entertaining art form. Create cartoons from free form shapes. Learn about the history of cartooning and discover how to put together a comic strip. Please bring a No. 2 pencil and a 11×14 drawing pad.
