Engrave your VIN on your catalytic converters Arlington

Last Thursday, I went to Everett Public library for a book singing by J.A. Jance. I parked in the lot on the corner of Everett Avenue and Rucker, designated for library patrons. Approximately 45 minutes later, I returned to my vehicle and discovered the catalytic converter had been cut off my truck, a 1993 Toyota. I expect a part of my sense of safety was the beautiful day, the open, designated parking lot and the age of my “old girl.”

Approximately 45 minutes later, I returned to my vehicle and discovered the catalytic converter had been cut off my truck, a 1993 Toyota. I expect a part of my sense of safety was the beautiful day, the open, designated parking lot and the age of my “old girl.”

After calling AAA for a tow, I called Wardell Automotive, the family run repair shop I have used in the past. My son and daughter also use this shop for repairs and to maintain their vehicles. I expected to be told to have the truck towed in and they would work me in as quickly as possible.

Since the truck is my only means of transportation, my mind was racing as I attempted to consider how to reconstruct my week without my truck. Imagine my surprise when I was told I could come in right away and the mechanic would see what could be done.

I called my insurance company and advised them of the situation and then reported the incident to the Everett Police Department.

Officer R. Cracchiolo took my report in a very professional and reassuring manner. He explained how the theft probably occurred and validated my sense of alarm. I deeply appreciated his kindness. While writing down information, the officer and I were approached by none other then two employees of Wardell’s Automotive. After looking at my truck, the mechanic announced he would be happy to drive my truck to the shop if I wanted, thereby saving me a further wait for the tow truck.

Talk about customer service.

Officer Cracchiolo suggested the shop engrave my vehicle’s identification number on the new catalytic converter before it was installed.

Backs at Wardell’s, digital pictures were taken of the damage to my truck. An after-market converter and new pipe were installed on my truck and within three hours of parking in the now infamous lot, I was actually able to drive my truck home.

I cannot say enough about the friendly, helpful people at Wardell Automotive. This is a knowledgeable reputable institution well deserving of your business. And if you stop by, be sure to take a doggy biscuit for their sweet, older girl.
