ARLINGTON The Arlington Library now touts computer service for even its youngest patrons.
On Sept. 20, the library received a childrens computer, complete with a child-sized table and chair, a special childrens keyboard and mouse, and two sets of headphones.
Arlington Library Branch Manager Kathy Bullene explained that the computer is mainly intended to be used by preschoolers and, as such, it does not access the Internet.
There are 10 different childrens games on it, as well as a link to Sno-Isles animated picture book service, Bullene said. Sno-Isle is paying for it. Many, but not all, of our branches have this service. Marysville and Granite Falls have both had it for a while.
Bullene understands that a number of area children will probably use the computer by themselves, especially since so many families are within walking distance of the library, but she hopes that some parents will take the time to help their children use the computer.
Wed like to invite more families to check it out on their next trip to the library, Bullene said.
