ARLINGTON — Arlington High School’s “College Day” will bring community colleges, state colleges and universities to campus on Tuesday, Oct. 11, to conduct informational sessions and answer students’ questions.

Sessions set to take place in the Linda M. Byrnes Performing Arts Center include:

• The University of Washington from 9-9:55 a.m. Learn about the application process at UW and why the essay is so important

• Skagit Valley College from 10-10:55 a.m. Learn about the two-year degree options and how to prepare for the Asset and Compass tests.

• The University of Idaho from 11-11:30 a.m. Learn about the important elements of a successful study-abroad experience.

• Northwest College of Art from noon to 12:30 p.m. Learn about their campus environment, that is designed to be inspiring and supportive to the creative spirit, and to provide a dual emphasis on individualism and job placement.

• Western Washington University from 12:35-1:30 p.m. Find out why WWU is nationally recognized, and learn more about the admissions process and how to pay for college.

• Washington State University from 1:35-2:30 p.m. “You and the Director” tells you how to navigate the WSU application process and plan your next four years.

• A parent and student session on how to pay for college from 6-7 p.m. Every college in the nation uses the FAFSA to determine how scholarships, loans and grants are awarded. Learn how to master the FAFSA. If you need money for school, this is a must-attend session.

Among the other colleges and universities on campus that day will be UW Tacoma and Bothell, Central and Eastern Washington University, Digipen, Cornish, Pacific Lutheran University, Evergreen State College, and Everett and Edmonds Community College.
