ARLINGTON — The city of Arlington will be holding an open house on Wednesday, Sept. 29, for residents to meet the new fire chief candidates.
The event will take place from 7-8:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, located at 110 E. Third Street.
City spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said that the names of the six candidates were not immediately available.
Former Fire Chief Jim Rankin announced in April that he would be retiring. The city has continued to utilize his services on a contract basis while replacements were being sought.
Rankin joined the Arlington Fire Department in 2005 after spending time as King County Fire Marshal, Fire Chief for the city of Issaquah and Fire Chief for Eastside Fire and Rescue. He started his career in California.
