MARYSVILLE — Even though it’s been a year since trooper Sean M. O’Connell Jr. was killed, tears flowed and emotions ran high at a dedication of a memorial for him Friday, May 30, at Washington State Patrol headquarters in Marysville.
Arlington’s Nathan Beamer and Emma Janousek traveled to Pasco to compete in the 4A State Cross Country Meet on Nov. 9. Beamer finished in 51st place in his race, while Janousek finished in 59th place.
The Lakewood boys cross country team traveled to Pasco where they completed in the 2A State Meet Nov. 9, and despite high expectations, finished in ninth place.
After claiming second place in the 4A Wesco North regular season, the Arlington girls soccer team traveled to Lake Stevens on Nov. 2, where they faced Kamiak in the first round of the 4A District 1 Soccer Tournament. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they lost the loser-out game by a score of 1-0.
The Arlington boys and girls cross country teams traveled to South Whidbey Sept. 26 to compete in the Wesco League Championship meet, and both teams finished well enough to move on to the Nov. 2 Bi-District meet at Lincoln Park in Seattle.
The Lakewood girls soccer team is headed to the 2013 2A District 1/2 Girls Soccer Tournament on Nov. 2, at Bellingham’s Civic Stadium. They will face Squalicum at 1 p.m.
The Arlington High School boys and girls cross country teams travel to South Whidbey High School on Saturday, Oct. 26, to compete in the Wesco League Championship meet, and will be running on a course where they’ve already had considerable success this year.
The Highland Christian girls volleyball team hosted Grace Academy, Oct. 22, and fell to the Eagles 3-0.
The Arlington High School girls soccer team faced off against Edmonds-Woodway, Oct. 15, and despite playing well, fell to the Warriors 2-1.
The Arlington Eagles completed their perfect record at home this season with a 70-62 win over the Lake Stevens Vikings on Jan. 25.
The Lakewood boys basketball team traveled to King’s on Friday, Jan. 25, and battled to a 47-41 victory.
The Lakewood Cougars girls basketball team hosted King’s on Friday, Jan. 25, but couldn’t keep pace with the powerful Knights who walked away with a 70-37 victory.
