ARLINGTON — In spite of a blanket of clouds and a slight threat of rain, the Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce still staged its annual barbeque luncheon at Legion Park in downtown Arlington Aug. 11.
Musical entertainment was provided by vocalist Becky Foster and former White House Pianist Herb Hamilton on keyboards.
Hamburgers and hot dogs were prepared by Chamber President Paul Graves and George Clayton, the latter with his “pink pig” grill from Home Town.
A trivia quiz of Arlington and Smokey Point history kept attendees on their toes, with prizes donated from local businesses awarded to those with correct answers.
“With the departure of the guests, so went the clouds and any further thought of rain,” said Michael Prihoda, executive director of the Chamber.
