Thank you for the on-line responses to my letter to the editor about historic Trafton Schoolhouse. I appreciate your points and your cordiality.
For the record, I am not a member of the Arlington School Board, though my child attends the district. I will admit that I am only using published cost figures and I am not aware of many of the details in the financing of Trafton School.
I strongly support that it could live on as an important historical remembrance and as a community resource as long as it does not detract from the welfare of the student population as a whole. I also admit to taking any opportunity to raise awareness about the many needs in our schools, and what we can do to help them do an even better job than they are now capable.
Summarizing, I just want to sympathize with those that will have to make the sacrifices if the greater good would be served in either way. I pray for the correct outcome and I commend your advocacy for school children. Your passion for them is our heritage that overarches all.
