ARLINGTON — Arlington High School’s annual “Jazzmine” musical stage show will once again take to the boards in late February and early March with this year’s “Media Overload.”

The title of this year’s show reflects the breadth of old and new music media alike that will be reflected in the wide variety of performances from the vocal jazz ensemble of AHS.

The stage show will start with material from the radio shows of the early 1940s, before moving on into songs from the “jukebox era” and musical television shows, as well as numbers from Broadway and the silver screen. Nostalgic favorites and modern hits will also be featured on stage, all the way up to selections from the age of MTV, MP3 players and YouTube.

Jazzmine’s performances showcase not only the songs, but also professionally done dance choreography, costumes and sets.

“Media Overload” opens on Feb. 25, and returns on Feb. 26 and on March 4, 5 and 6. Tickets are available now at the Linda M. Byrnes Performing Arts Center website, at www.byrnesperformingarts.org, at $15 for adults and $10 for students.
