ARLINGTON — The Arlington Arts Council will be hosting its third annual Art in the Park Sept. 11 and 12.
The two-day show, which includes honoring the accomplishments of the Council throughout the past year, will take place at Legion Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Approximately 25 vendors, as well as a number of artists, will have items for sale and up for auction, said Sarah Arney, President of the Arlington Arts Council.
At 2 p.m. on Saturday, the Council will also hold a Celebration of the Arts program, during which Council members will review their achievements throughout the year, most notably raising funds for an entryway sign in Arlington.
The sign will be placed along SR 530 so that drivers heading east will know what city they’re going through.
The art show is organized by member Roberta Baker. Artists include Baker and her husband, Kent Baker, Louise Magno, Phil Lane, Arney, Robert Walters, Joyce Bowley Mylene Kenken, Fran Kaufman, Bevery Schatz, Celeste Schandal, Karen Rust, Karin Martin, Lucinda VanValkenburg, Steve Hopkins, Reggie Kastler, Carol and Steve Bryant, Steve Hopkins, Judy Sauer, Dan and Linda Wright, Nickie Balam, Judy Hemenway and Kathy (Mardock) Critchfield.
Music will be provided by Impulse Latino from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Paul Nyenhuis from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, Stan Shipley will play music from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., while Tony Magno will play trumpet from 2-4 p.m.
Harpist Rosalie Boyle will perform during the Celebration of the Arts Saturday.
