ARLINGTON — About 40 local colleges, technical schools and military organizations will soon be on hand to help students make the transition beyond high school.
Arlington High School will host its annual “Life After High School Planning Fair” from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Oct. 1, in the high school commons area.
The fair is geared toward helping high school students figure out what they want to do after they graduate, said Connie LaFlam, high school career center specialist.
“Not everybody is ready to dive into a four-year college,” LaFlam said. “There’s always other alternatives.”
Recruiters from state and local colleges, such as the University of Washington and Washington State University, will be available to answer questions, LaFlam said.
Representatives from technical or community colleges, including Skagit Valley College, Edmonds Community College, DigiPen Institute of Technology and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising will also be accessible for students.
In addition to offering recruiters, the career fair will offer three presentations for parents and students.
A representative from Everett Community College will be discussing the FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Other presentation topics include planning financially for college and understanding college admissions.
Arlington High School is located at 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd.
