ARLINGTON — For the second year, the Gleneagle Family Restaurant Bar and Grill will serve as the site for a holiday party to benefit the Arlington Food Bank and other local charities.

According to spokesperson Ed Roach, last year’s fundraising party raised $1,000 in cash. This year’s fundraiser takes place on Dec. 11 at 7619 Country Club Dr. in Arlington and kicks off with a social hour starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by a prime rib and salmon buffet at 6:30 p.m. A DJ will provide music for attendees to dance to until 8 p.m., when Santa Claus and his helpers will arrive at the Gleneagle Clubhouse in a decorated Arlington fire truck to collect the donations.

Event organizers are asking for non-perishable food items and monetary donations, in addition to attendance fees of $25 per person in advance or $30 at the door, which includes dessert as well as all taxes and gratuities. Attendees who wish to bring children may seat them in the smaller dining room, which will be open to serve from the regular and kids’ menus. Roach recommended that attendees reserve their seats since space is limited and last year’s event attracted more than 100 attendees. The lounge will be open to the general public.

The holiday party will also include raffles and silent and live auctions to raise money for local charities, with auction and raffle items set to include a laptop computer, golf clubs and golf attire, wine, Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. merchandise and other sports memorabilia, and a full set of 2010 Seattle Mariners bobble-heads, including Ken Griffey Jr.

To make your reservations, stop by the Gleneagle Clubhouse, call 360-474-9955 or e-mail partygleneagle@gmail.com. Signup sheets are available at the clubhouse, and donations of raffle or silent auction items would be greatly appreciated.
