Grants for graduating artists

The Greater Marysville Artists’ Guild has announced the deadline is May 15 for applications for grants-in-aid and scholarships in the visual arts.

The Greater Marysville Artists’ Guild has announced the deadline is May 15 for applications for grants-in-aid and scholarships in the visual arts.

Applicants must submit at least five photographs of their work, identifying the medium and year completed. In addition to examples of work, graduating high school seniors accepted into a recognized art program must submit a letter stating grade point average and describing art training, experience and goals; a letter of acceptance from an art school or college; and a letter of recommendation from a teacher.

Adult artists should submit a letter of intent that includes a bio, a description of the class, workshop or seminar they wish to take and goals to be accomplished.

Finalists may be asked to meet with the selection committee to view original work.

Scholarships or grants must be used within one year of the award unless exceptions are arranged in advance.
