An evening of remarkable music and wit with Teresa Tudury and Jim Page is set for 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7, at the Conway Muse, 18444 Spruce/Main Street in Conway, just a few miles up the road from north Snohomish County.
A Seattle singer-songwriter, topical balladeer and social-justice advocate, Page has been performing for nearly 40 years and tours coast-to-coast, as well as overseas, from Ireland to Taiwan.
“Page’s riveting, socially conscious lyrics are tinged with edgy sarcasm and biting wit,” said coordinator Peggy Wendel.
“His powerful, free-flowing songs are matched to a forceful, dramatic guitar style that emphasizes each punch line. He can be playfully humorous, singing about a meeting between Jesus Christ and the Buddha (“Jesus and the Laughing Deity”) or modern Puritanism (“Yo”).
Teresa Tudury is a Bay Area progressive folk blues singer and comedienne, a powerhouse performer with a rich, contralto voice and a wicked wit. She’s on a rare Northwest tour with the legend, Page.
Admission is $12, members and $8 to $10 for low-income folks.
