ARLINGTON — The city of Arlington is offering visitors to Twin Rivers Park the opportunity to go on a guided nature walk Aug. 21.

City of Arlington Natural Resources Manager Bill Blake will walk the trails with attendees, and help them learn about the Riparian area.

Walkers will be able to identify the native species of trees, shrubs and ground cover, as well as observe the types of birds they see and hear.

Walkers will also be able to practice tracking skills, while looking at footprints and other indicators of wildlife that use the forested habitats.

The nature walk will head toward the Stillaguamish River, where the north and south forks meet, to talk about the life of the salmon.

Attendees do not need to register, and can simply meet in the back of the Twin Rivers Park parking lot at 3 p.m. to start the one-hour tour.

“Families are welcome,” Blake said. “This is an easy walk.”
