MARYSVILLE – “The Zaniac” Alex Zerbe had children jumping and dancing around like they had ants in their pants at Kids Day Saturday at Asbery Field.
The event annually kicks off the weeklong Marysville Strawberry Festival in town.
Zerbe’s colorful outfits and props delighted dozens of kids throughout the day while their parents rested on nearby benches.
Visitors may have recognized him as Zerbe has appeared on “America’s Got Talent” and “Last Comic Standing.” He also hold Guinness Book of World Records as Seattle’s 3rd best air guitarist and as hacky sack champion. He also juggles bowling balls, flaming torches and slices vegetables in half with a flying playing card.
Another popular area at the event was at Home Depot, where children made small boats, basketball hoop games and more with their families. They also received orange work aprons from the store. And The Builder showed up, too. It was all free.
Long lines were seen at the bouncy houses and slide. Balloon and face-painting artists were on hand, as was Marysville-Pilchuck’s own Victoria Steward, who sang Disney classics. The Marysville Police Department Bearcat was there, along with Webbly from the Everett Aquasox. Marysville Toyota sponsored the entire event to help out Maryfest, the volunteer organization that puts on the festival each year. Also, in observance of National Safety Month, it hosted Buckle Up for Life, the national car seat safety program offering attendees onsite car seat installation demonstrations.
