2 more file for county exec; races in M’ville council, Lakewood schools

More contested election races are developing as the last day of filing week is May 15.

More contested election races are developing as the last day of filing week is May 15.

Two more have signed up in the county executive race: Robert J. Sutherland, a Republican from Granite Falls, and James Robert Deal of Lynnwood, who listed no political party. They will be running against two well-known Democrats, incumbent Jon Lovick and Dave Somers.

For Marysville City Council, Clarence Shaw has decided to run against incumbent Kamille Norton.

In the Lakewood School District, Amy Williams will go up against Jahna Smith.

Three incumbents have also filed for re-election: Marlin Fryberg Jr. for fire district 15, Marina Maksimos for Marysville School Board and Randy Tendering for Arlington City Council.

Voters will have lots of choices for charter review as eight folks are running in District 1, 15 in District 2, 12 in District 3, 10 in District 4 and 14 in District 5. The top three vote-getters in each district fill the spots.
