ARLINGTON — Arlington Police and Arlington Fire responded a report of an airplane crash at Arlington Municipal Airport on Saturday, July 4, shortly after 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, crews discovered a small, single occupant airplane that had to make a hard landing in a grassy area between the airport’s main runway and taxiway No. 34. The aircraft, a Glastar “kit” project airplane, had damage to the landing gear and a minor fuel leak that was quickly contained. The pilot of the aircraft, a 66-year-old male from Seattle, walked away unhurt.
The cause of the hard landing is under investigation by the FAA and NTSB.
