Naheed Arang won the grand prize in the Arlington Library’s design contest for teens for her entry, “The Butterfly,” according to Jocelyn Redel, teen librarian. Honorable mention awards were won by Naheed’s sister, Nadia Arang for her rendition of “Starry Night,” and Melissa Bergemeier for her creation, “The Dragon.” The winners were announced at a Red Carpet Awards Party at the library. The competition called for the design of jewelry, clothing or art made of old, unused or broken pieces of technology.
