ARLINGTON – In recognition of National Emergency Medical Services week and National Police Week, May 15-21, the Arlington Fire and Police departments are hosting a Public Safety Expo. This open house event will be at Fire Station No. 48 located at 18824 Smokey Point Boulevard from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 15.

Emergency Medical Services Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s “front line.”

National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of the communities they serve.

Tours of the station and equipment, including fire engines, medic and police units, will be available. Firefighters, medics and police officers will be on hand to answer questions and provide educational information. Free blood pressure checks and refreshments will be provided.

Arlington Fire Chief Bruce Stedman said, “This is a great opportunity for our residents to meet our fire and police personnel who serve Arlington and a way for us to say thanks for the community’s support of the EMS levy.”
