ARLINGTON After a few fender benders in the small Arlington Hardware parking lot and many years of struggling to find ways to meet the parking needs of the stores customers, the owners of Arlington Hardware are continuing an ongoing process of revamping that will provide space for customer parking behind the store and more room for merchandise inside the store.
With Olympic Avenue being revitalized and access to the citys parking lot in doubt, we decided it is a good time to move ahead with our plans, said store manager Taylor Jones.
After examining a few alternatives, Mike Jones and his partner sons, Taylor and Carson, decided the best solution seemed to be taking down the old lumber shed and sprucing up the rear entrance of the historical downtown Arlington business.
They spent last year preparing for the dismantling, building a new lumber shed in the far north end of the city block, behind The Arlington Times and 360 Home offices, both located inside one of the towns first two banks.
Now that the lumber and building department has settled into that new metal building, the old lumber shed is being dismantled piece by piece.
Once that space is available for parking, the next step is construction of a new building in the current small parking lot.
We are excited about the changes and what they will mean for our friends and customers. We are sure those folks with three-quarter ton pickup trucks as well as little mini cars will appreciate the new parking lot, Taylor Jones said.
