Bobcat seen at Arlington Airport
While walking on the Airport Trail recently, Terence Bardue saw a bobcat.
“I thought I saw a feral cat walking west up the grassy knoll from the parking area,” Bardue said he was on the north side of the airport when he saw the critter.
“I couldn’t reconcile it’s size with that of a domesticated breed. I could only guess it was about 40 – 50 pounds and about 8 – 10 inches taller than any houshold variety of cat that that I know. The animal’s tail was ‘bobbed.’ which is not uncommon in feral cats, but even at that, it looked to be five inches long. What was most striking about this animal was it’s lack of timidity. It acted as though it knew it was at the top of the food chain,” Bardue said. That night Bardue checked the books and felt that he correctly identified the critter as a fully mature bobcat.
He was concerned for neighbors with pets.
More gardening information

Then the class will move to the garden of the instructor, Bea Randall, for some hands-on compost making, a view of different watering systems and further discussion on transplanting, increasing heat devices and mulching, and new information on organic versus conventional gardening.
