ARLINGTON — On June 30, Arlington Police arrested an 18-year-old Selah man and booked him into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of felony harassment, and for both possessions of and dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

The arrest comes on the heels of a three-month investigation conducted by Arlington Police School Resource Officer Lisa Wojciechowicz, who had received the initial complaint from a 14-year-old female student at Haller Middle School. The investigation involved multiple search warrants, for an extensive amount of information from MySpace and Verizon Wireless.

Arlington Police served a search warrant on the suspect’s residence in Yakima County on the morning of June 30, at which time they collected what is believed to be further evidence in support of the criminal charges. Upon his arrest, the suspect accepted responsibility for his conduct and admitted that there may be additional teenage victims.

Harassment is a Class C felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of $10,000. Possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct is a Class B felony that carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of $20,000. Dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct is a Class C felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of $10,000.
