ARLINGTON — The Stillaguamish Valley School is sponsoring a visit by Andrew Pudewa, director of the Institute for Excellence in Writing and a homeschooling father of seven, to share his insights with the Arlington School District on Feb. 2.

Pudewa will present “Nurturing Competent Communicators: The Power of Linguistic Patterns” for free in the Linda M. Byrnes Performing Arts Center at Arlington High School, located at 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd., from 7-8:30 p.m.

Pudewa has presented his program throughout North America, addressing issues related to teaching, writing, thinking, spelling and music with experience and humor. His seminars for parents, teachers and students are designed to help transform reluctant writers and equip educators with tools to improve students’ skills.

Pudewa promises to inform his audience how good writers develop, and how parents can develop high levels of writing aptitude in their children, from young ages into high school. According to him, these techniques can be implemented at home and in the classroom to create confident communicators.
