SILVANA — State Rep. Barbara Bailey is hosting a series of “coffee talks” throughout her 10th District communities through Saturday, June 9.
Bailey added the Saturday date after hearing from constituents who told her that weekday events presented challenges to their schedules. She believes these informal events are great opportunities for people to get involved in the legislative process, and to discuss issues important to their local communities.
On Saturday, June 9, she’ll be at Willow and Jim’s Country Café, located at 1421 Pioneer Highway in Silvana, from 11:00 a.m. to noon, before heading off to Stanwood, where she’ll be at Ramona Lisa’s, formerly the Scandia Coffeehouse and Eatery, located at 9808 Highway 532, from 2-3 p.m.
Bailey also held two telephone town hall meetings this year. The community conversations, which are like call-in radio shows, allowed many constituents to join in at once from the comfort of their own homes. Nearly 4,500 people participated in Bailey’s Feb. 20 event, and 3,419 people joined in for her recent event on May 14.
If constituents have questions, they can contact Bailey at 360-786-7914 or bailey.barbara@leg.wa.gov.
