Tiger Family Martial Arts Program

A great program for the whole family to get fit, have fun and learn some self-defense skills. The program teaches the kicks of Tae Kwon Do, the basic moves of Karate, and the stances of Kung Fu with bag kicking and padded sword fighting for fun. Beginners class lasts 45 minutes, colored belts stay longer and learn more advanced skills. Class is for ages 4 and up, all levels and abilities welcome. A rare chance to learn from a Master who has trained from the Grandmasters of Asia. Session includes a T-shirt for first time students (excluding 4-week class).

Whole Grain Bread Making Series

Move beyond the whole grain bread ÒbrickÓ to successful whole grain bread. In this four week series we will explore the basics of whole grain bread making. We will discuss the essentials for successful whole wheat bread baking; including flour quality, yeast, mixing, kneading, rising, and baking. We will also move beyond the basics and into rustic artisan loaves and other fanciful techniques. Meeting every other week, this series will allow for dialogue, troubleshooting and lots of practice.

The History Of Ancient Egypt

Free lecture series presented by Frank Barden.

We’ll look at pre-historic Egypt: who were the Egyptians and where did they come from and 3,000 years of ancient Egyptian history. We’ll learn about the Rosetta Stone and how hieroglyphs work, meet the great pyramid builders, learn about the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Sphinx. We’ll meet some of the great Pharaohs of ancient Egypt, including Cheops and Hatshepsut, the only female Pharaoh. We’ll study Akenaten, the Heretic Pharaoh who believed in only one god and his son, Tutankhamen.

Basic First Aid

Participants learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial information about how to deal with emergencies such as shock, burns, strains, strokes, and seizures is shared. Certified Instructor. Renew your existing certification or become First Aid Certified. OSHA, WISHA, L&I and DSHS approved. For adults and youth ages 12 and older.

CPR and AED for the Community and Workplace

This course teaches the chain of survival, activation of 911, emergency response, airway obstruction and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The class also discusses childhood injury prevention and information on adult heart attacks and strokes. AED discussion. Renew your existing certification or become CPR Certified. OSHA, WISHA, L&I, and DSHS approved. For adults and youth ages 12 and older.
