File for offices in Arlington and Marysville May 11-15

Filing period for local offices takes place from 9 a.m. May 11 to 4 p.m. May 14.

Many Arlington and Marysville positions are up for grabs.

To be eligible for run, you only need to be at least 21, a resident the past three years and a registered voter.

Filing fees are 1 percent of the annual salary, but many of the local races are free.

The cost to run for Marysville mayor is $1,254.11, but in Arlington it’s only $180. The incumbents are Jon Nehring and Barb Tolbert.

In Arlington council spots 4-6 need candidates. Cost is $48. Those in the positions now are Randy Tendering, Marilyn Oertle and Richard Butler.

In Marysville council spots 5-7, the incumbents are Rob Toyer, Stephen C. Muller and Kamille Norton. To run for their spots will cost $114.

Three Marysville School Board spots are up for election. Positions 2, 3 and 5 are now held by Mariana Maksimos, Pete Lundberg and Thomas Albright.

Three Arlington School Board positions also are to be voted on this year. Those are positions 1, 2 and 4 with Jeffrey D. Huleatt, Jim Weiss and Kay E. Duskin.

It is free to file for one of those positions.

In Hospital District 3, positions 3 and 4, now held by Margo Powell and Steve Patterson, will be up for a vote.

Five local fire district spots also are up for a vote. They are: David DeMarco in 12, Marlin Fryberg Jr. in 15, Kevin Buhr in 19, Dan Britton in 21 and Tim Bailey in 22.

It also is free to file for any other those positions.

County positions also available, including the executive, who makes $164,336 a year. Other positions are: assessor, auditor, clerk, sheriff, treasurer and charter review.
