LAKEWOOD — Area firefighters and emergency personnel extinguished a wild land fire during the early afternoon Wednesday, Oct. 7.
No injuries or damages to residential structures were reported to the approximately one-acre fire on the 14700 block of Evergreen Way just south of Warm Beach.
It took more than three hours for firefighters to put out the blaze.
Authorities said the fire was likely an accident. It is currently under review by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office.
“This is just a reminder of just how dry the conditions are still even in early October,” said Christian Davis, battalion chief for the North County Regional Fire Authority. “We just want to remind everyone to be careful with their outdoor burns and always think safety first.”
Additional aid was provided by the Marysville Fire District, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, Snohomish County Fire District 15 and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
More than 30 firefighters and nearly 15 fire units, including a helicopter, helped put the fire out, Davis said.
