The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Flood Warning for the North Fork Stillaguamish River near Arlington from Wednesday evening to late Thursday night.

At 1:15 on Wednesday the river level was at 8.4 feet. Flood stage is at 13.0 feet.

The forecast calls for minor flooding with the river expected to rise above flood stage at around 10 p.m. Wednesday and crest near 13.6 feet around 11 a.m. on Thursday. The river is expected to fall below flood stage on Thursday afternoon.

At a river level of 13 feet, the North Fork Stillaguamish River will cause flooding of Oso Loop Road as well as minor riverbank erosion. A river level of 13 feet corresponds to Phase 2 in the Snohomish County Flood Warning System.

Heavy rain in the Cascades will drive the Stillaguamish River to flood state. At this time only the North Fork and main stem at Arlington are forecast to reach flood stage.
