ARLINGTON — The students of Highland Christian School offered their time and energy to clean up Arlington, May 15, with different teams working at the Arlington Library, Terrace Park, Centennial Trail, the alleys east and west of Olympic Avenue and the avenue itself from Lebanon to Division streets.

A team also worked at the Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Museum, according to volunteer coordinator Shauna Gould.

“The school asked if they could come and help clean up the streets, sidewalks and alleys of downtown Arlington as a ‘thank you’ to the businesses and people that have helped them get through this past year,” said downtown merchant Jeanne Watanabe, who’s children attend the school.

The school’s volunteer coordinator, Shauna Gould worked with assistant city administrator Paul Ellis to coordinate garbage bags, rubber gloves, brooms, dust pans and supplies.

“The students also gave thank you cards to all of the downtown merchants and younger students did a bunch of tasks around the school,” Watanabe said.
