ARLINGTON — Citizens and law enforcement apprehended a suspect of a hit-and-run Sept. 6.
At 5:42 p.m. Arlington police investigated a reported hit-and-run with injuries at E. Burke Street and Highway 9. A female suspect fled the scene in her vehicle, abandoned her vehicle on Dike Road and continued to flee on foot toward the Stillaguamish River.
With the assistance of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, Stillaguamish Tribal Police Department and a Lynnwood Police K-9 Unit, a 30-year old Arlington woman was located and arrested without incident a short distance from her abandoned vehicle.
Victims from the crash were transported and treated at, and later released from, Cascade Valley Hospital. According to Arlington Assistant City Administrator Kristin Banfield, the arrest was made with citizen assistance and a well-coordinated effort by several different law enforcement agencies.
The suspect was later booked into the Snohomish County Jail for an outstanding warrant and the hit-and-run continues to be under investigation by the Arlington Police Department.
